Another post I read previously, but just now commenting. I love the picture of you and Michelle with Sammy. The flowers and rocks are nice too. But the paddling video is the best, especially because I have done stuff like that several times. Looked beautiful: sky, water, sun and earth= all colliding to feed your spirit as you traversed the surface. Thanks for the glimpse into yet another of your hikes, Colorado Chris! Keep wandering.

I read this one when you first posted, but didn't get an opportunity to comment...are you freaking kidding me---The Ancient and Honorable Order of the Squirrels...not just old, but also HONORABLE! Truly sweet, such as in, "that is fracking sweet!" Does that mean you now have a secret handshake with any squirrel you meet? Or do you have to feed and/or house any squirrel that comes to your door and does the secret tail shake signal!? While I don't expect a reply, due to confidentiality agreements, I do expect all communications of the Order are being monitored or compiled by the government security apparatus. Maintain only acorn signals until updated further.

I know your post is from a year ago, but I came across it looking for info on the Cheyenne Lodge.

Back in about 1998, when I was younger and more willing to break the law, I snuck past the Will Rogers Shrine, up a steep gully, and onto the original access road for the Cheyenne Lodge. Hiking the road you can find multiple cars from the lodges operational days that slid off the road into the trees. I wish I still had the pictures! Were talking cars from the 20's, 30's, and 40's!

Watching your videos I was able to recognize quite a bit up there. I don't know if it has changed, but back in the late 90's, there were no trespassing signs all over, and if caught on the property, the caretaker didn't give you a second chance. I guess all the graffiti in the old telegraph office was too much for him!

Anyhow, I know this is late, but great video and picture. I hope to hike up there again someday soon...
